Director Alex de la Iglesia's look back to Spanish filmmaking of old centres on Carlos, a young boy on a mission to find the grandfather denied him by his mother. Directed, written by and starring the man himself "El Topo" is a violent, surreal, quasi-religious Western, if that makes sense (which like the film it doesn't).
