After killing the crooked mayor a homicidal janitor named Abdullah goes to work for a butcher who has invented a new language for the town's planned futuristic theme park. In the butcher shop is a septic tank where scraps of meat are dumped which has produced "balonium" a radioactive fuel source sought after by space aliens. The aliens revive the mayor, who's body is hanging in the meat locker of the butcher shop, in an attempt to gain access to the balonium. Cult classic. find out more...

From the boys that brought us South Park and Team America comes a riotous musical horror that tells the story of Alferd Packer, a prospector who leads a group of fellow 'diggers' into the Rocky Mountains in search of gold only to be accused of murder and cannibalism when the bodies of his companions are discovered partially eaten and mutilated. A tale of comradeship, evil 'trappers' ('Rip their fur, cut their eyes out with my knife. Yo-ho'), Native Indians with a distinctly Japanese flavour and find out more...
CRY-BABY (1990)

Certification15 Our Rating

US teen heart-throb Johnny Depp plays Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, the coolest dude in school and the baddest boy in Baltimore. Rich, prim, new girl Alison thinks he's a dream, her grandmother thinks he's a nightmare. An even weirder cast than 'Hairspray' in this quirky, offbeat musical extravaganza that's got a touch of traditional John Waters shock stuff, but is predominately a parody of both 50s teen rebellion and 50s teen musical flicks. Its reputation has grown hugely with time. find out more...

Valerie is amazed when a UFO crash lands in her pool and three hairy aliens emerge. A haircut and a manicure later and she's got perfect escorts for a wild night on the town and the makings of an interplanetary love affair. This wacky flick is very funny for some, but downright boring for others. find out more...

The staging of a musical, a romance, a bumbling private eye and a man who keeps wandering on with a pot plant for 'Mrs Jones'! is almost incidental to the speed, imagination and sheer craziness in a film that gives the Marx brothers a run for their money. Justifiably described as ‘Pythonesque', Hellzapoppin is a hugely influential comedy classic that can now be seen as way ahead of its time.. find out more...

Ismael is the male at the centre of a ménage-a-trois with his long-time girlfriend Julie and his work colleague Alice, but when you have more than you should the result is often dissatisfaction and it is only the full frontal assault of fate that brings the lives and destinies of all into sharp focus. "Les Chansons d'Amour" is a joyful homage to the French New Wave and Jacques Demy's classic "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", a musical tale of love and longing. Full of knowing references and a cult h find out more...

A 'Leatherface' type murderer who wears other people's faces, kills at an all-night horror-thon at an old theatre put on by a bunch of film students. And now he's back to kill his daughter, Sara, who is believed to really be Maggie.

Superlative horror that blends great diy special effects, cinephilia and frights with aplomb. AN find out more...

Taken from Pete Townsend's rock "opera" of teenage frustration and rebellion set amongst the mods and rockers battling it out on Brighton beach in 1964. Brilliantly recreates the atmosphere of the time and has a great sound track. Speed fighting, speed, casual sex, speed, bike chains and speed. find out more...

"Stingray Sam is not a hero / But he does do the things that folks don't do that need to be done / He's got a bravery inside / That will not let him run away..." So goes the theme song to McAbee's bewitching second feature. The film plays like a homage to a 1950's that didn't exist, a riff on all the genres made famous by that decade. Consisting of six 'episodes' (each one narrated by a jubilant David Hyde Pierce) the film follows the eponymous Stingray Sam and his sidekick The Quasar Kid as the find out more...
