An updated (and somewhat revised) version of the Anglo-Saxon legend with Beowulf coming to the aid of his friend and ally King Hrothgar whose kingdom is under siege from the maurading troll, Grendel. An entertaining tale of vengeance, loyalty and mercy whose use of real locations and unadulterated actors may well offer a more satisfying experience for those viewers disillusioned by the CGI-laden extravaganza Beowulf.
