17-years-old Igby comes from a cinematically typical wealthy white American family; there's loads of dosh but everyone's dysfunctional at best and verging on psychopathic at worst. Igby maybe odd himself, but he knows true madness when he sees it, and he sees it in just about every member of his family. To this end the lad makes a concerted and sexually orientated bid for freedom, seduced and seducing women old enough to well know he's barely legal. Igby Goes Down is a deliciously fresh and slyly dark comedy with a collection of fine performances.
