Jennifer Aniston's ditzy journalist is even more confused than usual when she returns home and begins investigating the rumour that Charles Webb based "The Graduate" on real individuals living in well to do Pasadena. Working on the premise that her gran is the film's Anne Bancroft character, the increasingly confused journalist goes looking for the man Dustin Hoffman played, believing maybe, just maybe, he's her real dad. Rumour Has It is an intriguing conceit, unfortunately its execution is something of a disaster, neither intelligent, dark or breezily light, no one involved seems quite sure what they're doing…which is never good.
