When middle-aged university professor Parker returns to his small town commuter home one evening he comes across a stray (Akita) puppy in the railway station. So begins an engaging sentimental tale of both the relationship between man and his favourite beast and the emotional fall out of death.
Based round a true story of a Japanese dog, who faithfully waited every day for years at the station his dead master had commuted from, and transplanted to modern New England this is highly recommendable not just to dog-lovers, but all those who can be seduced by a good old fashioned emotional family drama.
