It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, taking the blame for the death of D.A Harvey Dent, for Gotham’s greater good, and turning himself from saviour to villain in the process. But a new evil has returned in the form of Bane, a seemingly unstoppable man/monster. A threat that the now half crippled Bruce Wane is ill equipped to combat. Lavish, stylish, intense, with some mind boggling action set pieces and, mercifully, a little more humour; ‘Dark Knight Rising’ is a hugely entertaining epic, but even I can see where 30 minutes could have been loped off the running time. 2 hours 40?.....come on!
