A fine adaptation, with Branagh especially sinister as the evil Iago, who vows his revenge when the debonair Cassio is promoted ahead of him, and who understands Othello The Moor's insecurity in Venetian society, specially with regard to the loyalty of his beautiful young wife Desdemona. Tragic.
