Based on a true story, Laura (Streep) is the increasingly desperate mother of little Robbie, who, suffering from epilepsy becomes the guinea pig for a series of experimental drug treatments which seem to do little more than make him unbearable to live with. Laura decides to research her son's illness and comes across a possible cure that requires nothing more radical than a special diet. The medical authorities do not share her optimism and she finds herself battling for the right try what she believes may well be the miracle her child needs. A powerful, heart-tugging drama, order in a few cases of the old nose blowers, you're likely to need the lot.
