It's July 1969 and as Apollo 11 gets ready to land on the moon, the world holds its breath with anticipation. Deep in the outback of Australia sits an enormous, incongruous satellite dish, a vital part of the mechanism that will allow image and sound to be broadcast to earth. By NASA's standards , the dedicated souls at the dish are unorthodox to say the least and what should be the small towns brief moment of fame is in danger of becoming their greatest humilation. The Dish is a quirky and warmhearted comedy, about some ordinary people in a very remarkable situation, gentle and laid back, this is a feelgood gem.
