HEATHERS (1990)

Veronica is a dissatisfied member of the in-crowd at high school until she meets JD, a cool newcomer to town, and they decide to play a practical joke on the 'queen bee', unaware she's about to become complicit in a series of murders. An offbeat, highly original and very black teen comedy. Brilliant, one to watch. find out more...

Another teen slasher flick from "Scream" writer Kevin Williamson, yet, oddly, this is more like the cliched stalk 'n' splatter caper he takes a sly dig at in his box-office-busting comedy chiller. find out more...
INCUBUS (2006)

Stranded in a remote forest, a group of friends find shelter in a seeming abandoned laboratory. Once inside, they find themselves trapped and at the mercy of a serial killer who was the subject of the lab's nefarious experimentations. When anyone falls asleep their minds come under the control of the killer - so beware of sleepwalkers. Utter nonsense yet strangely enjoyable. find out more...

A virtual remake of the truly scarey highly imaginative 1980s film about a bunch of teenagers who must stay awake as the nightmare figure, old pizza face Freddie Kreuger, in their dreams kills them in their sleep.
If you haven't seen the original, or even the whole series, then that's what you should be watching (bar, possibly, 'Nightmare on Elm Street 2') rather than this high production, but soulless, rehash. find out more...

Donna's senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best friends, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible, the man she thought was gone forever. A daft if gruesomely entertaining remake of the 1980's original. find out more...

Halloween 1963; a young and violently unstable Michael Myers takes a brutal revenge on his uncaring and abusive family, butchering his stepfather, his elder sister and her boyfriend. The next 17 years sees the increasingly withdrawn Myers imprisoned in Smith's Grove Sanitorium under the care of Dr Sam Loomis until, one night, Michael escapes and heads home to Haddenfield and to the one person he ever cared about, his baby sister Laurie. find out more...
SCREAM 2 (1998)

It's been two years since a pair of psycho serial killers terrorised the small town of Woodsboro, the events have been immortalised in new horror film "Stab", and terminally unlucky teen-scream-queen Sidney (Neve Campbell) has taken up film studies, natch, at college. But during a premiere of the movie at Sidney's local cinema (in an opening sequence which almost rivals the original) a member of the audience meets a gruesomely untimely end, heralding another couple of hours of murder and mayhem find out more...
SCREAM 4 (2011)

Sidney Prescott, the last survivor from the original and now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghost Face...bugger. An enjoyable and utterly undemanding continuation of a franchise that can ‘ironically’ never end. find out more...

A modern re-working of the 1974 original cult classic, a film that spent quarter of a century banned in this country and which showed considerably less gore than this little puppy. Five pretty but naive young things go on a road trip into deepest, darkest Texas hicksville, this will prove a fatal, and very gooey, error of judgement. Good, slick, slasher fun. find out more...

Derivative but devilishly enjoyable college campus horror-fest, set amongst a group of Princeton students whose teacher (Robert Englund of "Freddy" fame) has them studying urban legends, - those well-known tales of terror that everyone swears happened to a friend of a friend of theirs. But, whaddya know, somebody seems to be recreating the most terrifyingly famous ones, with the class of '99 as their victims. Yes, it's an outrageous ripoff of "Scream", and obviously inferior, but it's still an a find out more...
