CLUELESS (1995)

Based on Jane Austen's Emma, but set in Beverly Hills and updated to include such essentials as mobile phones, plastic surgeons and endless shopping. 15-years-old Cher is gorgeous, popular, rich and utterly clueless. A brilliant mixture of high school satire and feel-good froth.

An alternative theory as to who it was who made the Watergate scandal public. Two particularly fluffy high-school bunnies stumble into a series of paper shredding and general skulduggery. Blessed with the combined intelligence of a single-celled amoeba, the girls spent half of the film completely oblivious to the corruption around them, but when reality finally dawns, their trickiness puts everyone else in the shade. This isn't just another teen movie.

'TV rots your brain' she wheezes menacingly, before Kenny's satanic bedroom brings on a coronary. Once the 'sitter' has snuffed it, the kids opt find out more...

Great teen comedy as über-bitch Kimberly coerces two other girls into a sex harrassment case against an English teacher she wants revenge on. There's great dialogue, snappy lines and some wonderful characters in this not sexually inexplicit Heathers, Election, Mean Girls type flick. Very dark and very twisted. find out more...

A visually brilliant film about teenage gangs in America's urban wasteland. The leader of a small dying gang, Rusty James, lives in the shadow of the memory of his absent, older brother - The Motorcycle Boy. His mother has left, his father drinks, school has no meaning for him and his relationships are shallow. One of Coppola's two adaptations of S E Hinton novels, 'The Outsiders' being the other. A great performance from Dillon and an awesome soundtrack. find out more...
