Another adrenalin fuelled collaboration between Flynn and Curtiz, based on a true story, but more interested in the suicidal/heroic white knuckle world in which so many early experimental pilots seemed to live.

A platoon of soldiers are sent out on manoeuvers in the wilds of Scotland and at first their only worry is that they're missing the England Germany match, but when they discover the remains of a special operations unit things take a distinct turn for the worse, a misery compounded by the fact that the farm they've taken refuge in is home to a family of werewolves. Following on from 'Elizabeth' this sees her a more confident and assured, in firm control of her court, but still troubled by the bothersome Mary Queen of Scots and facing a war with Catholic Spain that few believe she will survive.
