An epic recreation of the beginnings of the American Civil War. Gods and Generals is a lush adaptation of Jeffrey M Shaara's novel, though its painstaking attention to detail does not fully compensate for the amount of times it allows the historically uninformed's attention to wander. Full of fascistic Pentagon pro-slavery rubbish.
