'All My Loving' was created when John Lennon and Paul McCartney challenged Palmer, then a classical music documentarian, to make a film that encompassed the 1968 music world in one hour of screen time. This was the time of student demonstrations against the war in Vietnam and the music describes this struggle while also providing an escape from the troubles of the day. Great footage and interviews with the likes of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Pink Floyd - who had just lost Syd Barrett - find out more...

Bob Crane was the star of the hugely successful 1960s TV series "Hogan's Heroes", a man of fine upstanding character until he's befriended by a svengali-like video technician. Together the two men embark on an increasingly dark journey of sexual hedonism that leaves Crane increasingly estranged from reality and, ultimately, dead. Auto Focus is a fascinating film, visually atmospheric, superbly performed by the two leads and an utterly gripping account of one man's decent into addiction. find out more...

Giuseppe Tornatore directed this grand-scale portrait of life and love over several decades in the small town in Sicily where he was born. We see a number of important historical events through the eyes of young Peppino, watching the fortunes of his town and his family rise and fall. While open to accusations of nostalgia, superficiality and indulgence the film is something of a feast for the senses.
A rambunctious family saga the kind they don't, and probably shouldn't, make any more. find out more...
