'Creature From the Black Lagoon' endures as a classic icon from 50s B-movie sci-fi/horror flicks. Every decent DVD library should have this even if it never rents.

THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN (1957)
CertificationPG Our Rating
Scott is contaminated by an unidentified spray and later by an insecticide, the consequence being that he starts to shrink. At first he rages at his loss of potency, but soon this turns to fear as he grapples with a domestic cat and, later, a spider in the surreal world of the cellar floor where he has been accidentally locked.
Generally considered THE classic 50s B-movie and one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

Superior stuff, especially with the slow uncloaking of the scientist's invisibility, and the movie that turned Claude Rains into a star.

An American scientific expedition stumbles across a long-buried UFO and it's extraterrestrial occupant in the ice of the North Pole. When they dig it up and take it back to their camp for study they unwittingly wake the creature from its hibernation. The original sci-fi paranoia trip based on the short story 'Who Goes There' by John W Campbell and later updated in glorious fashion by John Carpenter as 'the Thing'. A must for fans of the latter's ooze-fest.
