Anya Taylor-Joy gives a wonderful performance in the title role of this Jane Austen adaptation as a well-meaning but proud young woman who enjoys playing match-maker without proper concern for the feelings of those involved. Bill Nighy plays Emma's father to perfection. Fans of the book will be pleased.

Jessica Chastain is brilliant as Elizabeth Sloane, the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. it seems nothing can bring her down, until she takes on the pro-gun movement. Faced with the bitter challenge of suppressing her rhetoric and forever pleading the fifth, Sloane's cool exterior starts to crack. Great courtroom drama / tense political thriller with stellar performances from the lead cast.

Shot in one single take - like, but less impressive than Russian Ark - Victoria is a high energy naturalistic thriller that sees one carefree girl's night in Berlin turn very quickly into a dangerous heist. It sets out at a thumping pace but has a little trouble sustaining it without the hand of our good friend, editing.
