Razor-sharp rom-com, putting a contemporary slant on Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew". Probably the best of the recnt re-worked classics, the action kicks off in a Seattle high school, where new boy Cameron has fallen head over heels for the lovely Bianca. But there's one very big fly in the ointment - Bianca's big sister, surly rebel-without-a-clue Kat, who hates everything and everyone, particularly if they're male. To keep the peace, the girls' parents have decreed that Bianca can't st find out more...

(Showing at the Cube Cinema, Thursday June 26th 2014): The definitive nostalgia movie. A multitude of budding stars made their debuts in this fond look at the innocence of teenage life in '62. Difficult decisions, sex, booze, amazing cars and a brilliant soundtrack make this a film which is touching, perceptive, very funny and hugely entertaining.

Unashamedly unsophisticated coming-of-age comedy with a barrage of bodily-embarrassment jokes. Four high school friends, already battling raging testosterone levels, are outraged and awestruck when a smug classmate gets lucky with a real live girl. Making a pact, the four vow to lose their virginity by prom night, no mean feat given the guys' spectacular lack of familiarity with charm, finesse and the workings of the human body. So, a simple plot, splendidly executed by the largely unknown youn find out more...

'Baby Bogart' or 'Bugsy Malone The Sequel'? Young teens act out the roles of our classic noir favourites, Sam Spade et al, against a backdrop of a daylight open-spaced LA suburbia. The characters are there, the script is there, the critics loved it and you, the viewers, rave about it. Sorry, but I just can't buy young high school kids acting out these roles.....ergo the answer is 'Bugsy Malone The Sequel'...but please make your own mind up. find out more...

The 'City of God' is a slum town within the confines of Rio De Janeiro and a place of such casual and seemingly infinite brutality that no one but its residents ever venture within its borders. Rocket is one young man who has made a conscious decision to escape his 'home town' and it is through his eyes that we view this mesmerizing vision of a society where violence and the ruthlessness to use it have run amok. 'City Of God' is a truly awesome film, a heart pounding journey, with relentless pac find out more...

Based on Jane Austen's Emma, but set in Beverly Hills and updated to include such essentials as mobile phones, plastic surgeons and endless shopping. 15-years-old Cher is gorgeous, popular, rich and utterly clueless. A brilliant mixture of high school satire and feel-good froth.
