We alternately follow the story from two sides; that of Superman TV star George Reeves, who is carrying on a not so secret affair with Toni Mannix, the wife of a powerful, ill-tempered MGM executive; and that of private dick Simo (the ritual noirish fall guy), who is later hired to investigate Reeves' supposed suicide.
