Jarman's startling directorial style is put to full use in this superbly acted biopic. Low-budget, but not self-consciously so, episodes from Wittgenstein's life are played by a skilful cast in an almost theatre-like atmosphere. A visually interesting account of an often misunderstood philosopher.
