HEARTLANDS (2002)
Certification12 Our Rating
Michael is a simple man with simple expectations, but when his wife runs off to Blackpool with the captain of the darts team he knows the time has come to make a stand. Hopping onto his trusty scooter Michael sets off in hot pursuit, but it is the people he meets on his journey rather than the destination that are set to change his previously meek approach to life. Heartlands is a sweet natured British comedy drama, which works with considerably more charm than many that have come before it.

LORD OF THE RINGS THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING (EXT VERSION) (2001)
CertificationPG Our Rating
What can I say? The Fellowship of the Ring is all right if you like that kind of Sword and Sorcery thing? Small, cute whee people being chased hither and thither by all kinds of monstrous beasties. Acts of courage and heroism that would have comic book superheroes running for the hills (not that they'd be safe there....oh no!). Peter Jackson's film adaptation of Tolkien's epic trilogy of good versus evil in a fantastical world long past is just about as spot on as you can imagine it was possible

After his producers point out that he knows nothing of hardship, Joel hits the road as a hobo. While on his travels the director finds the lovely Veronica Lake, and more trouble than he ever imagined. Some truly inspired set

THE SURE THING (1985)
Certification15 Our Rating
Reiner's splendidly confident, witty teenage variation on 'It Happened One Night' focuses on two students hitching across the States through rainstorms, starvation and show tunes. He's a libidinous layabout, who inadvertently dropped in to college, and she's an uptight goody-goody who believes spontaneity has its time and its place. There's plenty of mileage in this pairing, even if the movie isn't going anywhere unexpected. It now looks like a dry run for 'When Harry Met Sally' and some of the
