Among the 18th Century Irish aristocracy the entire wealth of the family passed to the eldest son, a gutting situation when you were not him and you face a career as a soldier or priest. In order to combat this outrage a society known as the 'Abduction Club' kidnaps young women of a healthy financial persuasion and attempts to persuade them to marry these unfortunate males. Byrne and Strang are two such men and the Kennedy sisters are two such women, but when the lads abduct the two young girls they find themselves neck deep in a web of corruption and deceit. The Abduction Club is an entertaining swashbuckler of a period romp.
