A lone monk has been guarding an ancient scroll for over half a century, a manuscript so powerful it could bring about the world's downfall. Knowing that his time as the scroll's protector is nearing its end, and the forces of evil are closing in, the monk sets off in search of its next guardian which just may turn out to be an American wise-arse petty thief, Kar. The Bulletproof Monk is as daft as a drug addled pop star, but the fight scenes are pretty impressive, the action rarely lets up and the presence of Chow Yun-Fat is not to be sniffed at.
