Tracy's suffering from an intense bout of self-conscious peer-pressure and there is seemingly no lengths she won't go to in order to ingratiate herself with the coolest kids in class. Soon enough Tracy is best buddies with Evie and so begins a spiral into petty crime and drugs, an uncontrollable descent that leaves Tracy's mother horrified and impotent. 'Thirteen' is a powerful and unflinching story that explains the allure as much as it shows the destruction, and is based on the teenage experiences of Nikki Read, who plays the character Evie.
