Sarah Jordan is a beautiful young socialite whose life is irrevocably changed when an impassioned doctor, Nick Callahan, crashes one of her swanky do's demanding that he is provided with adequate finances and support to help the refugees in the African camp that he runs. Shamed by Nick's anger and contempt Sarah gives up all that she knows and dedicates herself to easing the plight of people ravaged by war in every corner of the world, but as her compassion grows so does her passion for him. Beyond Borders is at heart a turgid romantic drama that uses as its back drop the many exotic locations in which man indulges in genocidal inhumanity to man; to me that's offensive, to others it's probably a genuine attempt to make people who are otherwise ignorant, aware, by coating it in candy and hoping they swallow.
