Review
Evan is a likeable, hardworking student, his only flaw is a memory disorder which he may, or may not, have inherited from his father. Advised to keep a journal Evan accidentally discovers that if he reads certain passages he is transported back in time, an opportunity to write some of the wrongs from his youth that he cannot resist. Unfortunately for Evan, tampering with the past proves to be a messy affair, and far from sorting things out he merely succeeds in making matters worse. "The Butterfly Effect" is a thriller with enough holes to lose an experienced herd of pot-holers' for decades, but the sheer pace and quantity of plot twists allow you to suspend plausibility and just enjoy the hokum. Be warned though this film contains themes of child abuse and animal cruelty.
