Successful husband and wife move to the idyllic town of Stepford, a suburban nirvana for the cake baking Laura Ashley brigade. The men are fat and happy, the wives beautiful and devoted….something just ain't right. The Stepford Wives is a reworking of the creepy pitch black satire from the mid 70's, and it's another one of the increasingly long line of Hollywood remakes that beg the question…..Why? Words like stale, turgid, pointless and laughless spring to mind, but if you stamp "compare me" on the titles and then deliver this…you deserve all you get.
