Telly Paretta is a woman still haunted by the death of her eight year old son in a plane crash, and while she refuses to forget, she is gradually coming to terms with her grief, that is until her estranged husband, Jim, and her psychiatrist, Dr Munce, inform her that the boy is nothing more than a contrived figment of her damaged imagination. At first confused and then beginning to fear for her own sanity, Telly fights to prove that her son existed, and, along with an another bereaved parent, sets out on an increasingly terrifying journey of discovery of a conspiracy of unimaginable proportions. The Forgotten feels a bit like an extended episode of the X-Files, the closer you get to the truth the more ridiculous everything becomes. Entertaining and suspenseful, The Forgotten is a rewarding thriller to those who are prepared to suspend a little belief.
