Set in 1863 during the American civil war, a group of rogue Confederate soldiers rob a bank of army gold. On the run they hide out in an abandoned plantation house where, as night falls, things take a sinister turn and they realise that the house may not be as abandoned as they first thought. Dead Birds is a spooky edition to the haunted house genre that blesses the audience with an intriguing story, muted and atmospheric cinematography, subtle performances and an evocative score. Oh, and there's a healthy dose of splatter too.
