The year is 2024 and after a Fourth World War the earth is a desolate wasteland inhabited by scavengers, dangerous nocturnal mutants and the odd 'Solo' like nomadic loner Vic, who roams with his far more intelligent - not to mention telepathic - companion Blood, a "Rover" who searches out supplies, women, and enemies and provides the requisite witty repartee. After Blood sniffs out one particular woman, she seduces Vic and lures him back to an underground society where the old ways of life (Middle America) have been recreated. However, with no dogs allowed, can he say goodbye to his only lifelong companion and is this newfound society really all it appears?
