A hippo, a lion, a zebra and giraffe, former residents of New York's Central Park Zoo find themselves shipwrecked in Madagascar. Unfortunately for these four friends they all start reverting to type, namely the lion keeps on trying to eat his best friend the zebra. It's the peripheral characters that provide most of the humour in this big budget CGI animation, in particular the monkeys, penguins and lemurs…good fun and some inspired moments..it ain't no Shrek, but then it ain't no Shark Tale either and that can only be a good thing.
