Sarah Nolan is divorced and alone, and while her sister can do nothing about the former she is determined to meddle in the latter. Jake is similarly alone but, though these two are quite obviously potential soul mates, their first wary encounters don't go smoothly and they allow the opportunity to pass them by. As Sarah and Jake continue to trawl the world of the loveless and needy, experiencing the multiple pile up that is middle-aged dating, they begin to realise the depth of their mistake…but is it really too late to try again? I know this is a cheap shot but the title sounds like it's stating a prerequisite for anyone contemplating watching it. In fairness ‘Must Love Dog's' isn't that bad, though much of its meagre redemption rests heavy on the two likable leads.
