Review
There are many people under no doubt as to Emily Rose's ailment, she' possessed by demons, the young woman's shocking behaviour and terrifying seizures at complete odds with the sweet girl everyone has previously known. When Emily's attempted exorcism goes disastrously wrong a priest finds himself at the mercy of the judicial system, his only hope for vindication a sharp but deeply sceptical lawyer. Part courtroom drama, part horror movie, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a slick, well-acted slice of movie hokum, though the insistence of it's ‘based on a true story' status is a misplaced pretension.
