Jeliza-Rose has lived an unusual life and, though still only a young girl, her world doesn't look like getting saner any time soon. Jeliza's junkie mother has recently overdosed and, with her passing, dad, a rock and roll musician well past his hey day, has become her main ‘carer'. Jeliza has descended into a world of fantasy, a place where squirrels can talk and bodyless dolls are the closest one gets to true friends. 'Tideland' is both dark and witty, a surrealist tale brought to life by the master of such visualisations, Terry Gilliam. A modern day Alice in a screwed up Wonderland and all filmed in Saskatchewan.
