The real life Darwin Awards have been running for nearly thirty years and are given to those of us who die in the most stupidly ridiculous ways, the theory behind the awards being that the loss of these people enhances humanity's evolutionary progress. Forensic detective Michael Burrows is obsessed with them and has an uncanny ability to put himself into the minds of those he observes. He's also uptight, anal and pathologically averse to taking any form of risk himself. His colleague, insurance risk assessor Siri, is his opposite, normal and sassy, and together they investigate real life accounts of mankind's fantastic ability for self-inflicted harm. 'The Darwin Awards' gleefully plunders amazing, but true, stories and is a quirky, funny pleasure.
