As a young schoolboy John Farley was at the relentless mercy of his ragingly competitive and brutal PE teacher, so when he returns to his home town as a successful and considerably slimmer writer he's horrified to discover that his mom is dating the source of all his barely repressed childhood torment… Mr Woodcock. John is determined to save his mum from such a fate but his nemesis sure as hell ain't going to take it lying down. "Mr Woodcock" is a pretty standard comedy farce saved by John's increasingly doomed desperation, a great cast and the odd line that's close to inspired.
