The attendees include Jim, who falls off the wagon during the meeting; Louis, who is obviously still in denial about his addiction; and Joseph, whose drinking caused a drunk-driving death. Others at the meeting, from a twenty-something slacker to a well-to-do doctor, illustrate the social and cultural diversity of those affected by this ‘legal' drug.
