The death of his brother, the legendary Rex Racer, in a mysterious racing accident ten years earlier has urged young Speed, son of car-designer and team manager Pops Racer, to carry on the family legacy. But the more Speed wins the more he realises how corrupt the sport has become. Then when he enters the ultimate race, ‘The Crucible', he must decide whether to tow the line or drive for the spirit of his older brother. This Wachowski Brothers adaptation of Tatsuo Yoshida's classic 1960s Japanese anime series ‘Mach Go Go Go', is a computer game influenced, comic strip, colour filled, 'little guy versus the corporation' spectacular, that, if a little over long at 2 hours, finishes with 2 spectacular races. Light and tongue-in-cheek stuff.
