The lives of three estranged adult siblings interact when their mother, heiress to her uncle's exceptional 19th Century art collections, dies suddenly. Left to come to terms with themselves and their differences, Adrienne, a successful New York designer, Frederic, an economist and university professor in Paris, and Jeremie, a dynamic businessman in China, confront the end of childhood, their shared memories, and divergent expectations. 'Summer Hours' narrates the interplay between the siblings with subtlety and examines changes in the roles of art, property, work and family in an increasingly globalised world. It is a beautifully performed and nuanced observation of the human condition, where we witness the difficult and different progression of its characters from sadness and loss to a gradual positive acceptance of who and where they are.
