Bazil has had it hard; orphaned as a child, when his father was killed by a French made landmine, and hospitalised by a bullet in the head, he has lost his job in a DVD store and wanders the streets penniless, that is until he meets ex-convict Slammer who introduces him to a set living on the margins of society. Happily ensconced with his new mates Bazil hatches a plan of revenge against arms manufacturers, a plot his friends are happy to go along with.
Despite its political setting this is essentially a comedy, more Delicatessen than A Very Long Engagement, stuffed with winches, pulleys, gears, cogs, levers and cannons.
Very droll.
