Review
Tetro is a tempestuous, washed-up, failed writer working as a lighting engineer and living in Buenos Aires with his doting lover Miranda. When his much younger half-brother Bennie arrives on the scene dark family secrets start to be uncovered.
At times inspired this gothic melodrama, beautifully filmed shows flashes of genius, at other times it veers into sheer soap. This is a work that has more of the stamp of a student film-maker than an ageing one - imagine the style of 'Rumblefish' crossed with a film adaptation of a Tennessee Williams play.
