Review
An American adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist's celebrated vampire novel, follows almost indecently hot on the heals of Tomas Alfredson’s superlative Swedish adaptation “Let The Right One In”. 12 year old Owen is a lonely, bullied social misfit, his new, indeed only, friend is Abbey; an implausibly calm and wise young girl. As a string of gruesome murders take place within the community the two friends are increasingly drawn into the mystery. Let Me In is another fine reworking of the story and while it lacks some of the sensitivity and beauty of the first film, it attempts to make up for this by ramping up the element of ‘horror’.
