A Hamburg picture framer is persuaded that he is dying of an incurable and mysterious disease. A rich American, Dennis Hopper, approaches him with an offer he can't refuse - kill a mobster or two and his wife and child will lack for nothing. A superb, atmospheric thriller - one of Wender's best.
