Review
Wenders' documentary homage to the Japanese director Ozu in which Ozu's vision of Japan is contrasted with Wenders' contemporary assessment. Extracts from Ozu's "Tokyo Story" are juxtaposed alongside images of Tokyo's modern urban chaotic life. Interviewees include two longstanding Ozu workmates lead actor Chishu Ryu and cameraman Yuharu Atsuta. Mesmerising and poignant by turns.
