Paul McGann steps out of the Tardis as the 8th Doctor, and a very dashing timelord he makes too. While transporting the remains of the Master, an evil Time Lord, the TARDIS malfunctions and ends up in San Francisco in 1999. The Master escapes and assumes a bodily form, the Doctor regenerates and, with the help of an attractive heart surgeon, must locate and defeat the Master before the turn of the millennium at midnight or we all cop it. This big budget adventure retains the charm of the old-style cult classic but boasts significantly improved effects.
