Every old man's ill-conceived fantasy comes true in this soft-focus melodrama set in small-town America. Wizened old teacher Joseph (Hopper) is disillusioned with life and love until he begins a steamy affair with a gorgeous 17 year old (yeah, right!) understandably outraging the locals. Hmmmmmm.
