Review
Terry George's contentious account of the IRA H-block hunger strike is, in fact, a hugely moving drama highlighting the universal pain of war, told through the eyes of two of the prisoner's mothers. Helen Mirren is outstanding as the lifelong pacifist who wants only to end her son's suffering.
