This DVD features both of Rodriguez's take on the bandito movie. El Mariachi is a tremendously entertaining debut from Rodriguez. A young musician arrives in town looking for work. He is mistaken for a similarly dressed hitman, who has a beef with the local gang boss. The ensuing confusion is beatifully and stylishly filmed, despite the low budget. A must! Rodriguez's remake of his cult hit "El Mariachi" strikes the perfect balance between arthouse and mainstream entertainment. On a one-man mission for revenge, bad boy Banderas bursts into a sleepy Mexican town and proceeds to blow away everyone in his path. Super-stylish, ultra-violent & very funny!
