Set in Small Town, USA this Linklater flick is based on the terrific play by Eric Bogosian. It follows a day in the life of some town slackers who are awaiting the return of the town's prodigal son, the rock star Ponyboy. His arrival (with limo and PR girl in tow) serves only to highlight the dead end lives being led by his old pals. But is his life all it's really cracked up to be? This is a smart and tragic film that begs us to take a closer look at a generation that's losing its hope, its drive and its credibility...and ask why.
