Meryl Streep in a made-for-TV medical melodrama. The Reimullers are devastated when their young son Robbie is diagnosed with epilepsy, but far from receiving the help he needs, the little boy soon becomes little more than a guinea pig for experimental drugs. Unable to bear seeing her adored son turning into an uncontrollable monster, mum Laura decides to search for a cure herself, but then finds herself having to take on the medical establishment if she's to give her child the chance of a normal life.
